Requirements and Capabilities
McKlein Company, a growing, Chicago based, leather goods manufacturer and distributor with three brands, seeks a graphic designer/photo retoucher/digital asset administrator. Duties will include design for web, print marketing and brand communications. Editing digital product photos and maintaining an image archive will be at least 35% of time.
Ideal candidate has interest in brand building and has demonstrated effective B2B/B2C design, digital direct marketing, workflow and digital asset management. This position requires a versatile, conceptual thinker with strong typography, who can adapt to a wide range of design styles. Must be self-sufficient, able to problem solve and offer a variety of design solutions, under strict time and budget constraints.
Experience
BA degree in graphic design preferred
Design Studio, Agency, Creative Services
Photography skills a plus but not required
Basic Web understanding (no programming)
Will consider a recent graduate with strong portfolio.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Design and production for digital and traditional channels using best-in-class technologies including workflow and asset management.
Proficiency in photo and color manipulation techniques and processes
Color conversion and correction
Pre-media production
Software Skills
MS-Office Suite
Adobe CS6 (Windows 7 PC environment)
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge
Project Management
Ability to work well in a team environment, with a moderate degree of supervision.
Handle a demanding workload, prioritize work while meeting deadlines.
Good people, organizational skills and attention to detail.
